Terms of use
Simple Car Insurance is an information site. It is not an insurer, a broker or a financial adviser, it sells no policy, it takes no payment from anyone visiting it, and nothing on it is financial advice or a recommendation about a particular policy or insurer for you. The pages describe the three kinds of car cover in general, and every policy fact carries the insurer's own wording and the date we read it. Always read the policy wording before you buy.

1. What this site is
Simple Car Insurance publishes general information about the kinds of car insurance sold in New Zealand. It does not sell, arrange, underwrite or administer any policy, it is not an insurer, a broker or a financial adviser, and it gives no financial advice within the meaning of the Financial Markets Conduct Act 2013.
2. The wording governs, not this site
Quotes from an insurer’s document are reproduced as they were published on the date shown beside them. Insurers change their wordings. What your policy covers is decided by the wording you hold, which is a contract between you and your insurer — not by anything on this site. Always read it before you buy, and if it disagrees with a page here, it is right and we want to know.
3. Accuracy and currency
Facts here are re-checked on a 120-day cycle and carry the date they were read. Past that window a fact is withdrawn from the page rather than left to age quietly. We make no warranty that the site is complete or current between checks, and we publish no premium figures at all.
4. No relationship with any insurer
Insurers are named because they sell car insurance in New Zealand and publish documents we can read. Naming one is not a sponsorship, approval, endorsement or affiliation, and none is implied. Where a link pays us it is marked Partner on the page it appears on; the disclosure page sets out the position in full.
5. Links out
We link to insurers’ own sites and to government and regulator pages. We do not control them and are not responsible for what they say or do.
6. Your rights as a consumer
Nothing here limits any right you have under the Fair Trading Act 1986, the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or the Privacy Act 2020. Where a term of these conditions would conflict with one of those rights, the right wins.
7. Contact
Corrections and questions go through the contact page. Simple Car Insurance is run from New Zealand and these terms are governed by New Zealand law.
