Simple Car Insurance
Simple Car Insurance is an information site. It is not an insurer, a broker or a financial adviser, it sells no policy, it takes no payment from anyone visiting it, and nothing on it is financial advice or a recommendation about a particular policy or insurer for you. The pages describe the three kinds of car cover in general, and every policy fact carries the insurer's own wording and the date we read it. Always read the policy wording before you buy.

Why it exists
New Zealand car insurance is sold as 3levels under the same three names by every insurer, and almost every page written about it online either quotes premiums nobody can source or ranks insurers on a basis nobody publishes. The gap is narrower and duller than that: what does each insurer’s own wording actually say, and what does it leave to your own policy schedule?
So this site does one thing. It reads the documents — 68 facts across 8insurers so far — quotes them, dates them, and says plainly where an insurer publishes nothing. On 18 of the 72 comparison points, nobody publishes anything, and that is worth knowing before a quote call.
Who writes it
Simple Car Insurance writes as an organisation. There is no personal byline anywhere on this site and no invented one either. Nobody here holds a financial advice licence, and nothing here is written by an insurer or reviewed by one before it goes up.
The operating company is not registered yet, so no company number, NZBN or registered address appears on this site. When the entity exists those details will appear here and on every page footer, and not a day before.
What it does not do
- Recommend a policy, an insurer, an excess or a sum insured for you
- Give an opinion about whether cover you already hold is right for you
- Sell, arrange, underwrite or administer any policy
- Quote a premium, publish price estimates, or claim to show live prices
- Rank, rate, score or name a “best” or “cheapest” insurer
- Collect your name, rego, address or date of birth to run the questionnaire
- Pass anybody's details to an insurer, a broker or anyone else
- Take payment from anyone visiting this site
- Take money from an insurer for content, placement or the order of a list
Every list of insurers on this site is in alphabetical order by name. Nothing is ordered by whether an insurer pays us, and no insurer can pay to change its position, its facts or whether it appears at all.
